Here is a copy of the February 1956 school magazine, which results from a visit in August 2003 by Paul Graham (JRGS 1959-66) and Nick Goy (JRGS 1963-70) to the Local Studies Library and Croydon Archives. Each of the images are offered as individual JPEG files. Paul Graham writes: With the February 1956 magazine, we move into the new days on the Shirley site, although Waddon Road is still being used for sport as there is a delay in the completion of the Oaks Road site. New staff, including Mr. Thomas (Woodwork, etc.), Mr. Sharrock (Maths), Mr. Catchpole (Arts, Cadet Corps), Mr. Simpson (Chemistry) and Mr. S E Murray (P.E.) are recorded on page 4, along with a picture of the new dining foyer that will bring back memories. The dedication of the new school organ is described on page 6 and page 7, with another picture of reasonable quality. There is the usual wide range club and sporting activity, along with news on pages 39-40 of various old boys dating back to the 1920s. We have also prepared a PDF file of this school magazine.
