While on holiday on the Norfolk/Suffolk borders earlier this summer, Mike Marsh (JRGS 1949-55) visited the Lowestoft Museum of Transport to ride again on a London Transport tram, the interior of which is shown above. As Mike discovered, the seat backs reverse so that passengers could always sit facing the direction of travel regardless of whether the tram went forwards or backwards.
